Post by knightmare » Sat Apr 21, 2012 3:19 pm

I'm looking at replacing the MTF soon and was wondering who here has got there's direct from honda and whether they had to take there own bottle along or does it come in its own 1 litre bottles ?

cheers Paul.

Yeah transmission fluid mate. The things is manual states Honda only fluid! so I'm very unsure of whether to try
other manufacturer's.

Hopefully one of my ludes goes today so I'll have more space so can help you out any time. Its quite un easy job.

When changing your gearbox oil ALWAYS try to undo the filler plug FIRST!!! Before you drain it!!

Somepoeple have reported it very difficult to remove, AFTER they've drained the oil and are then stuck!!

I've done mine recently with MTF3 - 2 bottles. I also had difficulty undoing both the drain and the filler. More because I had to use extentions and universal joint socket etc. to get my long bar on for leverage. Only just managed to crack them off then - and I gashed my hand when it did

I got mine from here - Honda Parts Dealer - It was easier than going to my own dealer and probably cheaper...quick delivery too. Will use again for all my Honda parts...
