Right guys im in the process of planning the what needs and what i want to be done on my lude...This is a complete amature question well kinda two of.

Im looking at uprating certain sections i.e. engine, suspension so this is kinda a two in one question

1. What parts would be interchangeable on my 1992 BB1 for second hand parts if i cannot find.
2. Then where is it best online to find uprated parts i.e. coilovers without being completely shafted in costs.

I know a lot of this will be trolling the internet for hours on end to find those rare parts but this is really a question so i have a starting point.

Is it normal to be looking £600 for a set of coilovers?

If your on a tight budget then id go for bolt on mods

Engine:
types s cams
manual tensioner
polyfilled or es poly engine mounts
type s intake
V2 spoon chip from Rob
plm manifold or similar with 2.5" exhaust

Suspension:
set of used konis or coilovers
5th gen reinforced upper wishbones
polybush everything
lightweight 15" alloys

That should be enough for a fast daily drive without spending too much.
Next stage would be uprated intake manifold & throttle body (atr or skunk2 etc) with chipped ecu and Hondata and tune on the dyno. Inovative mounts and traction bar, uprated gearbox with lsd & final drive and bigger front brakes

You should be able to use almost all parts between BB1 and BB4 with main difference being the engine H22A2 Vs H22A ( UKDM & JDM)
Best place to get parts is this forum and possibly ebay, tegiwa, htune etc

Hope this helps and its just my take on things so im sure others will chip in :)

btw - your hardly an amateur youve had a few preludes over the years ;)

those type R cams, like the H22A8 cams or type S cams are more aggressive. without tuning, they will probably give you a few more bhp, but with a tune you should get a more aggressive vtec and even more ponies

would I need to change anything else engine wise if I'm dropping these cams in, as actually considering it now ? as gonna get another tune ?

do you have a remappable ecu installed already?
nope, their plug and play basically. the only thing i'd say is while the cambelt is off, fit a new one along with a replacement water pump :)

yeah have a water pump and belts to go on so this would be quite good - handy to know i could just pop these in with no issues and helpful to know that accord type R parts can be used. I was looking at uprating the inlet and larger throttle from the accord?

You'd need to get that tuned in if you went the atr/Skunk2 inlet route, otherwise you'd loose power
