Right been to pick up some bits for the lude today, but the cogs have begun ticking. The blokes got a b20a7 engine up for grabs and I'm wondering how hard this would be to swap in.
any one know how hard it would be to swap from carbs to FI? And what I would need for that?
I don't know how much work the loom would be either.
This is my first project so need a bit of help to get me started.
I'm what they call a noob.

You need the whole dashboard wiring loom, whole engine harness loom. Whole engine and dizzy etc. And the fuel return lines to the fuel tank and possible the fuel pump too.

Yep, wouldn't surprise me if you need different fuel pick up from the tank, pump, wiring back to the tank as well.
Nb: on a 3g the fuel lines run through the cabin (on the inside of the sills). All the ecu gubbins/wiring in the dash is a pita to get at. That would include needing the extra relays and fuse box btw.
Exhaust (manifold/downpipe) and intake system are all different as well.
It's all do-able, but you need quite a lot of stuff.

but if your doing a H22 swap it would be well worth the hassle

so im right to assume that it would be mostly ripping out most of previous loom and ecu to then replace with b20a7 ecu/loom
to many ideas rattling about in my head need to get a focus haha.

By the sounds it would be a massive amount of work for very little gain,
A H22 swap would probably be about the same amount of work with the fuel lines and loom but with the added drama of the engine mounts and a few other little things but well worth it if you pulled it off..
im no 3g guru but thats just hat ive learned from having a similar over excited imagination when it comes to swapping engines and things in hondas
