Well i will try to explain, what is the issue that my cars has right now.

My Car started with the dash lights blinking, then a couple of 10 seconds later would stop doing it. When this started to happend, i did turn off the car and try to start again the car but had to try like 5 time and then did start normally.

This issue come and go and then i thought that might be the Main Relay, when i check the Main Relay did notice that there where some little cracks on 2 weldings. fix that issue and the car work fine with no problem.

this past tuesday i came home and the car started with the blinking of the dash lights and then the dash was turn off, but the car was still on, then a few seconds that this happen the car started to shut off without turning the key. like 40 seconds later it came back like nothing happened. Few seconds later the same blinking of the dash lights started.

So i turnoff the car when this started to happen again. Y did try to turn on the car but this time the car wont start i did put the Key in the ignition swtich, but when i turn the key from the 1st position to the 2nd position (that is when all the dash lights turn on) here in this 2nd position the dash lights dont turn on i didnt here the fuel pump turn on as well and then the last position will be to start. . So i thought that Main Relay was the issue and did buy a new Main Relay.

When i put the new Main Relay the first try didnt start, then i did try again here i was able to get it turn on and everything work normal, then the same issue appear again the dash light blinking, then the dash turn of, but the car was still on.
When this happened i notice a little thin smoke coming out from, where the side indicator wipers. So i turn off the car.

Checking to see if i was able to find, in the web or here in the forum the same issue that i am having, did came across with these one.
http://www.ludegeneration.co.uk/honda-p ... 29-30.html
and checking all, notice that the issue where pretty much the same. And the picture that Wurly posted on page 3 i have the same type of Key.
But i dont know at this point what would be the issue. Now that i saw that thin smoke and did smell a little burn

my thoughts on what the issue might be are:
-immobilisers do to bad Key
-completely bad ignition switch
i dont know if i am right, so please help.

thanks in advance for all the help

I was going to say ignition switch. Not sure about the smoke though, although I don't quite understand where you said it was coming from. ???

Well this picture i just found them on the web.
think will be better to explain from where the thin smoke came from

Basically RHD 4th gen
Image
The Side Indicator
Image
Left side if i am not wrong will be for the front windshiel wipers and rear wipers
Right side if i am not wrong will be for the Headilights Low and High Beams

So hopefully this will explain better from where i saw the thin smoke came from. The smoke came from the Left side of the Indicators and did smell a little bit burn.

Ah so the right hand stalk?... Which is right above the ignition barrel ;)

I'd say check out the ignition switch at the back of the barrel bud.

I'd be looking at the ignition switch 1st, I once had a civic that would just turn itself off, and sometimes wouldn't start, had taken the ignition switch apart, and cleaned the connections and tracks, worked perfect then.

I do miss my 4th gen - the interior is a lovely place to be. You just took it one step further with the S2000 clocks.. Nice!!

Definitely not a main relay problem.

I would start with looking at the ignition switch, dash earths and condition of the wiring around the ignition switch/steering column (is there anything worn/chaffed/generally buggered about with by a previous owner).

Thanks Nate for the help, will be checking and doing a test with the multimeter with the ignition switch, to verify that the rest of the electrical parts are ok.
