My bb4 all of a suddenly does some wierd thing when driving along.
A few times today now when driving along the engine has kind of cut out? Then comes back on? When driving along.
The only way I can describe is as if the engine stalls whilst I'm driving and get jump started back on (as I am fing driving along!!)
Not constant, but scares the jobby out of me.. And the girlfriend (Nagging saying it's my driving)
Maybe clutch related? As I think the clutch isn't sitting right.
Or electrical? As like I said it seems to switch of a bump start back up maybe.
Oh choking on air or fuel? And it does sound maybe it chokes and does it wierd thing.
Any help?

Could be the ignition switch.

How do you go about checking that as a reason? :?

Take the electrical bit off the end, you'll have to remove the cowling to get at it. Then take it apart and give it a good clean. I assume its not spluttering when cutting out, just doing so instantly?

Yeah instantly I haven't noticed the dash switch off though? Just the radio stops and restarts

Worth checking the fuse box for something loose too. Seems to be an electrical issue. I'd still be thinking ignition switch though.

Definitely sounds like it's an electrical fault.
Are the battery terminals on tightly? (eg: the clamps on my Prelude close up before they've grabbed the terminals properly.)

Interesting, I will look at the battery. Could it effect the engine then can it? I have a light weight battery which has given issues before with not turning over strait away (or at all in mid winter) I was planning on putting a regular battery in.

The engine will run off the alternator without a battery in place, so I doubt it is that.

I would suggest checking the battery terminals and level, too.
Battery needs to be in circuit to keep everything running.

Is it just the engine that cuts out, or do you lose all the dash lights at the same time?
