Taking the injectors out etc.. should not make a difference.

The only time I have had a starting issue like this was when the earth for the fuel pump was disconnected.

Can you get a feed directly to the fuel pump to see if the fuel pump is working? (Disconnect the fuel line at the rail to see if it pumps anything out... Into a container ;) ).

Otherwise it could be the mains relay or the ignition.

where is the fuel pump relay or pgfi relay drivers side footwell under the fuse cover?

The main relay is behind and underneath where the steering wheel sits.

Also check fuses 2, 3 and 7 in the engine bay fuse box.

That is a good idea about the fuses. ^^ They are foot well fuses.

Fuse 36 in the engine bay fuse box is the PGM-FI system, as well fuse 2 in the foot well
