My bonnet heat cover is all tatty so have been thinking of removing it?
There any chance of causing any issues with this, or does it make any difference at all?

No probs at all buddy. You will just get a bit of steam coming from the top of the bonnet when you are driving in the rain.

It helps to heat up your engine little bit faster in cold weather and lose heat slower. Other than that it just looks damn fire hazard for me i'll tell you that

Dont know if its flamable at all really.

It's not.
It's there to damp noise, vibration and prevent the bonnet overheating and cooking the paint.
The world will not end if you remove it but chances of all the above will increase slightly.
I don't spend much time admiring the underside of my bonnet, so on the balance of the other benefits it brings, I can cope with it still being there instead of shiny paint.
