4th gen alternater

Is it right that a 4th gen alternater for a 2.2 vtec is 315 pounds just had a look on euro car parts web site. If so dam hope I don't need one. Car has bin struggle to start sounds like flat battery but had a brand new one in April :|

1. You can buy an alternator from a breaker for a tenth of that....

2. Check all connections to your starter are tight & corrosion free. Also check all earth straps are in good shape & connections are good

Check the battery voltage with a volt meter as the car is running. Anything in and around 14v and your altenator is fine.

Cool will try that as well all conectors seam fine it try's about 3/4 times then fires up so will see

If it's turning over and not firing then it's another issue. An petrol engine needs fuel/air/spark and compression. When it's running does it run fine?

So car didn't start at all this morning definitely flat battery. Car run fine when did run so I think it the alternater

Again thanks I may need one. I am taking the car to a friend who is a car electrician tomorrow till Saturday to have a good look at it. So should know by Sunday thanks
