my clutch pedal has been making some weird noises all the time its been back on the road , upon closer inspection today it seems that when the pedal is fully down the return spring is catching in the pedal frame work like the spring is to wide to fit , i stayed looking at this trying to work out what was going on but being upside down got the better of me first

it seems as if the spring with age has slightly lost its shape over time causing it to bulge out so i am thinking maybe i need a fresh spring

this is the part that is rubbing its the return spring rubbing on the inner part of the frame , now looking at that pic looks like i have a slight leak on the clutch master cylinder

ooft looks like youve two jobs to do now - spring and the master cylinder
mind u it might be the mc thats causing the spring to rub or you to think the spring is rubbing
tbh most 4th gens seem to have a slight leak or weep from the mc

and a squeaky pedal especially when its cold
youve got to think that isnt too bad considering the part could be 20+ years old
