Ultimately you can do anything yourself, depends on skill level etc. really.
What is wrong with your current solenoids?
That box was also used on some Accords and the Odyssey, but it's not massively common in the UK, so might explain why there is little aftermarket karts support over here.
I think Honda made their own auto boxes (rather than bought a standard design from a box oem) so again, might explain the lack of after market support.

It's the semi auto box wurly , mines a bit lumpy in the lower gear but otherwise fine I had a chat to the Americans that have more automatics over there they say you can take the senser's off an clean a filter inside them if they doesn't work you need new ones they say it's something that's common to keep the semi auto or auto boxes sweet over there so thought it was worth a try just to get new ones an try an refurb the old ones if that makes sense

The filter is not actually inside the solenoids, they sit between the solenoids and the gearbox, its obvious when you remove them. They are basically on or off switches. So if it's shifting ok then probably not the issue........
Have you tried a gearbox fluid change?
Yes iain, the hondamatic owes no patents to other manuafacturers as they designed it from the ground up.

The gearbox fluid is clear but I may try a fluid an filter change an see if that does the job then as well as the solenoid filters
