Cam change questions

Okay so I have a Japanese h22a spare laying around, is it worth changing the cams into an h22a5? I know most people go for h22a7 cams.
Secondly, and this might be a stupid question, do I need to have it tuned after? I understand if that’s the case I might need a different ecu and then I also might lose 4ws, is that correct? Thanks

H22a cams won't make any difference, only h22a7/a8 or type S ones. If you do go for those you'll get the maximum of of them by getting a remap from a tunable ECU but it's not essential.
If you do go for a remappable ECU, you won't lose 4ws don't worry, only TCS if you have that option on your lude

Damn, I thought I had some spicy cams. I can still swap over the throttle body right? And what ecu am I looking for? If the right one comes up at a good price I’ll probably grab it. Cheers

Throttle body won't be different. Only the pistons are different.

Just pistons are different aye? That’s bad news, I’ve just got a lump in the garage then I guess. I might part it out if ou guys think it’s worth it?
I know it has its own thread but can I get some sort of chip for a h22a5 ecu? As it looks like I’m not changing cams or anything. Thanks

Yes, a5's are 10.0.1 and h22a 10.6.1 I think but the difference is not much as 15bhp, not sure you'll notice that jump. I'd keep the lump as a spare unless you need the room/cash.
Robs spoon chip should work in your ECU.
Tunable ECU wise, most common and best loved for ludes are Hondata in a p28, p30 or p72

If someone knows 100% on the chip can you let me know please

otherwise, I think I know someone selling a p28 ecu with a b16b turbo map on it. I’m down in Thanet if anyone knows a good trusted tuner around my area, my only issue I think is loosing my 4ws.

4ws uses a separate ecu not connected to the main ecu so nothing will effect it. P13 on Hondata or crome is the way forward.

p13? You mean p28..?

Just checking in case I'm confusing something
