Chipped ECU query

Hi guys,
I have an H22 swapped civic with no ECU. I am trying to work out the best way to go. I know I can get a P28 with a basemap easily and cheaply, but this means I will then have to visit a tuner which is not practical for me for a while as I need the car running and mobile to get it through an MOT/ insurance/ tax etc.
So, my question is, can I buy an ecu with a chip already in it (hondata, etc) and then that is plug and play and I dont have to visit a tuning shop unless I want it fine tuned? Basically just trying to work out if there is a plug and play option!
Cheers,

What version of h22 do you have in it and how has it been wired into the existing car?

The block just says H22a there is no other number. It has been wired by cutting the old civic harness and re wiring the injectors and sensors that way.

So that's a JDM H22 (I presume from a 4th gen rather than the rare and odd-ball 5th gen Type-S H22a) which also has a knock sensor.
Not familiar with Civics... Did that have a knock sensor?
What OBD version are the ECU plugs on the civic?

What civic if you give me a model code I can tell you when OBD

and if the loom has a knock sensor.
As far as I’m aware of it’s a tec wiring loom you can run it with rywire jumper harnesses keep us posted and will try to help

A p28 is not from any h22 as far as I remember, so to me it wouldn't work/ wouldn't work very well on just that.
If you got a Hondata, there is a free basic h22 map available to download and install to get you going

Yeah I was wondering if it would be possible to just plug in a p13 from a JDM 4th Gen to get it running, with one of Rob's spoon chips.

Need more info.
What obd is car?
What obd engine is installed, distributor, injectors etc
Once that’s giving it’s easier to say which options are available ecu wise.
