Hi everyone, thinking ahead really. If my H22 does pack in can i swap it for any of the h22's or does it have to be the same one thats in the car currently. Also does anyone have a engine for sale as might buy one to keep when this ones does finally pack in.

Many thanks, Ben

Pretty much yes, any prelude H22 will do.

The exception being the type s which has a funny shaped block to accommodate the ATTS system.

Also the A7 from an ATR might need slight adjustment to the intake side of the head to fit the prelude inlet manifold/injectors.

Worth remembering though that the compression ratios will differ between the different blocks, so for a trouble free life and negating the need for a tune, probably best to stick with like for like.

Any H22a engine should fit as far as i'm aware. There are a few differences including the H22a7 found in the accord type r that has a higher compression ratio.

Some more light will likely be shed from someone.

remember if you can find a h22a8, its not only a straight swap but has higher compression pistons and aggressive cams like the a7

There is another difference to bear in mind...
Stick with a 5th gen h22 engine, otherwise you will have different OBD-yo issues (different connectors on the ancillaries such as alternator, distributor etc.)
