Oil Catch Can - Good or Bad Idea

Ive got an oil catch can here that im thinking of fitting to my BB4
just wondered what you all thought - good or bad
its just a basic toyo sports catch can so is it worth the bother?
i know you can get more expensive ones that filter the oil but is that really necessary on the lude
also i need to plumb it in so would welcome any tips/ideas/pics on how best to do that

Absolutely a must. Also it must be filtered or baffled or else it's useless at separating vapour and oil.
It's shocking how much oil I empty after 1k miles. Around 40ml of fluid that would coat the intake track and my supercharger.
I use a mishimoto it's literally is a simple as plumb it inline between the pcv to intake pipe.

only problem is the one i have here doesnt have any filter or baffle....
the mishimoto stuff is a bit expensive if your on a tight budget like me but i could add a stainless steel mesh and shape to fit the canister and help seperate the intake from the outake or if i could find a baffle plate that could be fitted to the bottom of the catch can that might be a way to go
im sure ive seen the catch cans set up a few different ways
1)pcv from head connected to catch can inlet - outlet has long hose venting out bottom the car
guess this way can be worked to give a fine undercoat of oil to the chassis - sort of built in rustproofing
2)pcv from head connected to catch can inlet and outlet from catch can back into intake
3)pcv valve put into air intake and straight feed off the head into catch can and back into the intake
ther might be other variations - might be good to here from those who have them fitted
-wish puk was still about as it would have covered that plus some arguments of pros and cons

Mine is connected like option 2.
Option 3 is more for high power turbo build with excessive crank pressure and you put extra outlets on the valve cover.
Stainless mesh will work fine with a baffle on top.

cheers - ok so with proper filtration option 2 sounds like the best set up
