Vehicle speed sensor

Can anybody help where do I find the vehicle speed sensor is it the speedo cable?

The VSS is bolted to the top of the gearbox. Its quite difficult to see as it is quite far back in the bay and only a bit of it is visible :)

Take off the intake pipe and you will see a lot better. Its also not cable and is electric.

This is a accord box but it looks the same and is in the same position iirc:

The VSS on the 4th gen has two rubber pipes from the power steering attached to it as well as the electric wiring.

on the 4th gen its in a different position - further back towards the firewall ;)

yeah thats right the two rubber hoses that come off it connect to metal pipes that are fixed to the subframe - you can disconnect them from there but power steering fluid will come out so have a rag and a tub handy :)

sometimes its just the connector &/or wiring that that needs replaced so its also worth mentioning you can unscrew the electrical connector from the top of the vss - i replaced mine a while back and fitted a new connector and fixed the damaged wiring (with help from Merlin. You can get the connector for £3 or £4 from ebay - take a week or so to arrive from China. ;)
