Might be worth sticking a small switch somewhere out of the way, which you can flick "on" to bridge these two pins together, and allow you to read your engine codes without needing to hold a paperclip! That way, you can concentrate on counting the codes :)

:lol: mate, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that as simon had issues just getting a piece of wire to work... installing a switch and such is going to be above tech level....
