Hi,
I have some problems with my clutch and I would like to get to the bottom of it. I suspect that my slave cylinder doesn't extend as far as it should.
So I would kindly ask if someone knows the distance from the housing to the shift fork WHEN THE CYLINDER IS EXTENDED / CLUTCH PEDAL IS PRESSED.
My symptoms are these:
- Can't shift into gear 99% of the time - shifter is tough to move.
- The clutch pedal offers some resistance, but not as much as it used to.
- I changed the slave cylinder and it didn't help - will try to bleed more tommorow, maybe I didn't bleed it enough.'
- I can feel more vibration of the engine on the clutch pedal when semi-pressed, as compared to before I had this breakdown.

Mine starts off at 2 inches exactly (cylinder ridge to end of fork where tape measure can hook on), and then extends to 2.5inches exactly when fully extended
I expect mine needs a tiny bit of bleeding so perhaps 0.5 to 0.6 inches is the right extension.
That's with clutch right to the firewall.

So on my picture you measured from the left side of the fork - not at my red line, but at the opposite side? Just asking so I measure correctly at my end.

correct, it was the only way to easily measure consistently, otherwise head position/paralax comes into play... Not much room down there to get micrometer in so had to use tape metal tape measure and bend it out the way.
Either way, 0.5 inch extension is enough to change gear smoothly/easily/no crunching
