No worries, thanks for looking. It's the other end actually by the cam pulleys but might well be the same part. I've seen a set of both on Ebay for a decent price so I'll go ahead and get that.
Quick (ish) question that's been bugging me - with the cam pulleys lined up the crank appeared to be off by half a tooth, which obviously shouldn't be possible. Should I be concerned about that? This was by the marks on the crank sprocket.
Looking through the timing window instead, I can see the pointer but no marks at all. More powerful light needed??
Hondash showed 35 degrees of ignition timing - but I guess this could have been advanced by a previous owner to compensate for an old belt? Or Hondash shouldn't be trusted on this, especially with a suspected vac leak? Or am I talking complete balderdash and the belt is still a tooth off?
As I mentioned apart from no power below 2000rpm the engine appeared to rev sweetly.

Can you put the crankshaft to tdc and then take a pic of both.

With the aid of a new brighter torch I've found the marks on the flywheel, so that will help greatly.
The cams were locked in place with pins through the holes so they can't have been out by more than a hair. The angle of the photo isn't great - why do you say they're out? (Not doubting you, genuine question )

Cams are pointing down, should be in line with the head like this
Once crank back to tdc position your exhaust cam will be out by a tooth and inlet cam should be in correct position.
I'm only going by what I see in the photos.
