Air Intake Resonator Delete - Gen 5

Post by andy50herts » Mon Mar 11, 2019 3:26 pm

I am sure this has been answered many times before - however, I did try a search and nothing came back!

I have purchased an air induction kit for my 99 Prelude 2.2

The kit is the long ram type, placing the air filter where the resonator box lives, behind the front bumper and in front of the front arch liner

Before I set about removing the resonator box, what do I did with the myriad of pipes that run to it ?

I'm pretty sure you can remove them all as most of them connect to the standard air box anyway :?:

I am pretty sure some of them are vacuum pipes and I am not sure if leaving them hanging loose is ok or not ?

Shorten them back to the single runs that come out of the induction system (remove any other joints/loops etc.) and then plug the vacuum line. Job done!

Decided to get my local garage to do it instead - collect the car tomorrow - looking forward to the induction noise with vtec crossover - if its anything like my old EP3, I'll be a very happy bunny

Really as simple as chop back and plug up? I'll be pulling the resonator out soon and was wondering what to do with these.
