So, the time has come for me to replace the rear engine mount.
Since these are apparently worth their weight in gold (according to honda original parts) I'm inclined to get some aftermarket solution.
Does anyone know of a good reliable aftermarket mount / have good experience with any sort of aftermarket manufacturer? I could order from UK, europe or even rockauto from USA, as long as the mount is reliable.
I've been reading some real horror stories about aftermarket mounts - that they last for a few months and then crap out.. so the fear is real
Also, could the rear engine mount be the same as in 4th gens?
Filling them with window adhesive or any sort of rubber is my go-to backup if nothing else works out.
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

5th gen aftermarket rear engine mount
I have an aftermarket front mount on my BB1 - i got it off ebay - brand is Yamato and quality of part looked good. So you may want to do a search for them. Fairly sure Yamato is Japanese company.

Not sure if 4th and 5th gen rear mounts are the same.

5th gen aftermarket rear engine mount
Thanks for the info (again) - I already replaced the front one per your recommendation
Need the rear one tho, as Yamato only makes front ones, according to their website

5th gen aftermarket rear engine mount
If you cant find a mount then there is used oem / es poly/ tigerseal, sikaflex
Here is what i have here:
4th gen rear mount - marked SOAT so presume this is from an auto....
ES poly mounts marked 1501&1502
Ive tried fitting the es polys to the mount but that looks to be quite difficult as they are a mega tight fit - not sure if its something to do with the mount and if there is any difference between SOAT & SOMT mounts
Hope this helps

5th gen aftermarket rear engine mount
Rear mounts don't tend to fail.
People only tend to mess with them because they're upgrading to stiffer mounts for track use - in which case ES PU insert used, home poly filled, or replaced with something like an Innovative mount kit (which will lead to much vibration).
OEM style aftermarket replacements are available made by Hardrace @H10ndr fitted those to his beautiful 4g and had no issues with them causing extra vibration, IIRC. You can get them from H-Tune, although i'm not sure if that's where he got them?

If buying from H-Tune, don't forget there is a club discount.
Rear mount is the same on auto/manual cars. IIRC the only difference is on the gearbox mount.
