Increased vibration

Went out for an exuberant drive the other Eve and on the way home things in the cabin got more "shaky" than usual. I thought a damaged/loose engine mount maybe the cause by they seem ok.

I did find my starter motor very loose.... so that's tightened up but made no difference, but as you rev the car even slightly you can feel the extra vibration, even out of gear parked up. The drive shafts seem in and fine.

When revving the engine from under the bonnet the engine doesn't seem to move much like it's loose or anything. Any ideas what else to check for?

Are there any accompanying noises? (rattles, knocks, squeaks etc)

Crank pulley looks good, no noises from elsewhere but I may have spotted the issue last night while working on the car so I'll test it later then update the thread

Did you have the balance shaft removed.

Does it go away when cluch is pressed

yep, have them removed but no it doesnt even appear until you start revving the engine a little, clutch in or not

Is it right through the rev range or just at a certain rpm.

You like leaving stuff loose

loose starter motor and loose throttle cable

as soon as you start revving it, right through the rev range. it doesnt get any worse as the revs go higher, but you can only notice the vibration in the cabin, so im still convinced maybe the rear engine mount is split/splitting although they all look ok-ish

   Nick you know me far too well!! as mentioned above, i noticed these were loose

starter as i'd only used 1 bolt as i couldnt find the other one when putting the engine back together, so i've re-tightened it and made up another bolt using one slightly too long but with spacers to tighten it properly.

the throttle cable i'd be adjusting since the tune as it had a lot of slack in it and you could tell, as there was a delay to revving the engine but it was then balancing the rev's being not too high and not too low to stall. ideally i need Bri's timing gun now to put it on course with the flywheel. i obviously hadnt tightened the two bolts enough

im going to remove the cam cover later to check if anything has moved in the head, maybe an adjustable cam gear has slipped or something im just guessing now. she starts and drives fine, but you can tell something isnt right with this vibration.

So does it vibrate faster the faster the engine revs?

What happens if you put it in gear and let out the clutch without accelerating until it almost stalls? Obviously a two man job to watch the engine, but that might increase any engine movement if it is your mounts.
