No, the vibration is consistent and doesn't increase with higher revs. I removed the rocker cover earlier and the cams haven't slipped the adjustable cam gears which is good.

I'll do the clutch test later Nath, cheers :)

Might be a total red herring but its worth taking the dizzy cap off and have a look at the rotor arm, points etc - easy to do ;)

If there is no strange behaviour or noises and you have checked the usual suspects, I'd say take a good look at the rear engine mount and make sure it is fully tightened. I'm not sure what else it could be.

i had some issues with dizzy in the BB1 - the earth contact pin in the cap had come loose and shredded some bits of the inner casing - they wrapped round the spindle and blocked part of the pickup sensors - car ran really badly with lots of vibration.
Like i say might be a red herring but old/worn/faulty dizzys can cause some weird issues - so worth a couple of mins work to have a look :)
I have a upgraded rear mount and mount to block bracket like new here - if you find thats the issue

i agree Tom, my main suspect is the rear engine mount yes, i polyfilled them all during the engine build and im pretty sure i have a spare i can polyfill but cheers for the offer Vanzep - if i do need one ill take you up there!
