Forged bottom end sleved. Help

Post by spudep91 » Fri Oct 11, 2019 10:45 am

Hi just bought what was ament to be a bc 2.5 stroker kit in a sleved block.

The block is sleved with cp low comp pistons and rods that say TA on con rod caps. About much as can make out at minute.

It was amebt to be as above a 2.5 bc stroker with billet alloy crank and stuff.
We compared tge crank to an other h22 one it looks tge exact same has cast marks an all.
Also we messured the bore size and is just the same as the stanard h22a so obovsily ist not a stroker kit.

Also ypu can rock the piston in the bore side to side a bit when have them at top are ypu ament to be able to rock them slity?

Also anyone no what make TA rods are?

Any other addive would be great. As dont want to wing alot more money at it and go turbo if isnt built right

For it to be the 2.49lt stroker the bore would need to be 89mm in conjunction with the 100mm stroker crank which is Billet steel not alloy.
If it does have a 100mm stroker crank but is still 87mm (can be ordered this way) then you will have a 2.37lt motor
BC kits usually do come with CP pistons but are custom depending on what spec is required at time of order (bore size/CR etc)
The billet cranks are nothing like an OEM H22a crank to look at, will even have Brian Crower on one of the balancer webs (front one from memory)
Rods are forged BC items with ARP fastners
Pistons will rock at TDC and is more pronounced when it is a short skirt forged piston compared to a cast stock piston

This is what my BC5035 100mm stroke crank looks like...

Sadly it sounds like you've been had mate. I'd be demanding all my money back if I was you, as that certainly doesn't sound like a sleeved block with a stoker kit :|
