Mate of mine has replaced the h22a7 headgasket in his atr with a genuine Honda, the water pump, cambelt etc and had the head skimmed too and he's still getting coolant into the the oil - any ideas how else it could be getting in?

The onlay thing I can think of is the oil cooler behind the oil filter. It is unlikely though.
