Hi folks,

I'm new to the Forum.

I have a 1993 4Gen Honda Prelude 2.2 Vtec (Jap Import) based in Dublin. The car has had ongoing issues with starting in recent years. Issue was intermittent but now wont start at all. Starter motor is turning but engine wont fire.

My mechanic says its the distributor but the problem is he can't get the parts for it. His usual sources are coming up blank. He has always taken good care of the car over the years (I bought it in the late 90's).

Anyone know a reliable sources of replacement Honda parts online?

Thanks!

Ciaran.

Getting the correct ignitor pack will be the difficult bit - all other parts are available from aftermarket suppliers on ebay etc.
Dizzy will be TD-60U but they can come with different ignitor packs - one make is hitachi the other is nec. so you might want to pull the dizzy and see whats in there. Not sure if any of the aftermarket ones listed on ebay are correct for jdm 4th gen vtec.
The coil pack is made by TEC and is part number TC-08A - should cost about £20-30 for a replacement on ebay. Some civics and other hondas used the same coil.
Dizzy cap and rotor arm should be same as used on uk models so plenty of choice there.
I have some used genuine ignitor packs if you cant find new parts.
Hoepfully thats enough info to get you started. :)

Also worth mentioning the Main Relay/Fuel Relay - sure your mechanic might have checked this already but you can check yourself by turning the ignition key to the 2nd position and listening for a click from under the steering column - you should hear this after a few seconds this means the main relay is working and giving power to your fuel pump.
