So,

In moving house I stumbled across this thing in the back of the wardrobe;

http://www.superstreetonline.com/plugge ... to_35.html

I'm thinking of installing it in the lude but without setting up the vtec controller as I don't want it to have control over anything. It would purely be as a rev counter & shift light as it turns out the one I have is way out :(

To do it this way all the wires would only be spliced and it's not modifying any signals so it should be fine yeah?

Don't worry I know what I'm doing with the wires :)

Google the installation manual for the apexi afc for a wiring diagram

@bb4; I've already got one ;)

well if you are just taking a feed of the ecu rev output i cant see it being an issue!

AutoTechnics stuff is quite reputable... There's just not much of it about. I remember theses though... There used to be loads of them on ebay for about £50 a pop.

You got it! That's when I decided to get one, probably around 3 years ago now :o

I bought an apexi VAFC soon after being told to avoid 'cheap' stuff. I guess it costs less as it's not trying to do the fuel corrections or anything :)

This will be going on my dashboard over the weekend :idea:

if you have a vafc you can probably just piggy back it off that!

Yeah I could but don't have the vafc anymore as i sold it with the last lude. Also the vafc has a rev counter option already :)

Installed this today, doesn't work :facepalm:

Got all the wires in and 1 light comes on, doesn't do anything if you start the car up either. DOH!
