Intake system, upgrade or standard?
Hi
I have a damaged intake hose, from plenum to throttle body, and it's looking like it's going to be impossible to find a new (or decent second hand) example, so I might be left with having to get an "upgraded" intake system. I don't want loud, nor chav, so I wondered if people had already fitted new systems that were neither of these but worked properly.
Regards

there is nothing critical in that pipes ducting - so you should be able to replace it with any kind of flexible ducting. Original part is no longer available (for h22a8/type s intake).
ebay for a silicon replacement / reducers as required. needs to have a bit of give as the engine moves but the airbox end doesn't of course.
I'm not a big fan of the induction sound (previous owner decided to whip the bumper off and remove the resonator box - a lovely job for me to put a spare one back in now)..

As above, keep the intake system as designed if you can as it improves torque levels at lower revs and make the car a better drive overall.

No, but it has molded seats/connectors for other pipework to clip to on the side of it, I thought there might be an easier solution/replacement.

I think the Type S intake is supposed to be the best for HP, but I think this is the same intake on the later UK red top engines.
For sound the AEM V2 and K&N Typhoon sound great to me, but everyone has different tastes. I like loud obnoxious exhausts for example

There isn't, I've looked; it's the pipe from plenum to throttle body, the shorter of the pipes with the external small-bore feed.Andyjess666 wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 2:59 pmThere's one on eBay someone has for sale if you just want original

Which part is exactly broke?
You say plenum to throttle but the throttle body is directly attached to the plenum (intake manifold). Or do you mean the air intake plastic resonator to throttle body tube that's broke?
If so I used a 74mm silicone hose bend cut to size.
