I did this on my old BB4 but that was a decade ago and i sold the car back in 2019.
I have fitted the 62mm TB and Type S intake with K&N panel filter and now want to do this on my BB1 but cant remember what to do with the vac lines.
Info in the wiki has gone - can anyone help.
If possible i would like to get it done this weekend - pics would be useful
Thanks
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

Resonator Removal 4th Gen
If its the same as the 5th gen, im prety sure all you need to do is plug the vac line leading to the resonator actuator in the inner wing.
Mine has been removed but I don't like it - the vibrations from the intake are slowly rattling the interior parts apart. I have a spare one to put in but not got round to it yet. If you do not cut the vac pipes but leave them in place, you can re install it more easily.
Better still - you can probably just wedge/jam open what the actuator does so its in roar-mode. I haven't actually checked whether vacuum pulls it open or pulls it closed. You might want to try simply pinching the vac line with a clip , then you might not need to remove anything at all!

Resonator Removal 4th Gen
I found the car was better with this in place, low end torque is improved. It is a clever design that lengthens the intake tract at lower engine speeds and I'm not sure there are any benefits that outweigh this.
The type s makes its power with the resonator in place.
To remove, its about 3 or 4 10mm bolts to remove the unit from behind the bumper, it can be done without removing the bumper, but it's tight. Plug the vac line that runs to the little control box on the gearbox mount.

Thanks all for the response - will have a look at doing this when needed- car is running very well with it in place but i have had a problem with the diaphram in the resonator snapping clean off on my BB1 before so will keep an eye on it for sure.
Just remembered Merlin will know how to do this
