Lude Generation

As per the title, I had a full clutch kit put into my Lude when I changed the gearbox last year and now I've got the dreaded clutch release bearing whine.

It's driving me nuts, if I press the clutch pedal slightly the noise goes way. Is there any sort of adjustment I can make or will I just have to bite the bullet and take the box out again and replace the bearing?

It sounds like someone has put your clutch set wrongly together. When clutch pedal is fully depressed then bearing is only sitting on the forks and not touching pressure plate. Another word it does nothing and can't make any noises. Normally if it's worn it starts wining when you press the clutch pedal. So completely opposite to what you said.
Or maybe it's not the bearing. I've seen damaged springs in pressure plate and I still don't know how this was possible as we didn't find any foreign objects in clutch housing as well as other parts were all good.
There isn't such a thing as adjustment. It's all hydraulic system and there isn't much to adjust. The only adjustment is on master cylinder but this is more to adjust your clutch pedal position and shouldn't really affect hydraulics. This also shouldn't be changed while you replaced your old clutch. At last I never touched this.

I'm afraid you'll never know what is going on there if you don't drop your gearbox.

Agreed, nothing to adjust unfortunately, only the pedal end.
You could check that the pedal is properly returning up to the stop (not holding slight pressure down on the master cylinder).

Beyond that, it's *possible* (unlikely, but possible) that internal failure of the hose lines could also keep pressure on the release bearing (rubber hoses can fail in a way where they stop fluid returning properly).

So all I can think of checking is a) confirm pedal is fully returning to the top stop, b) try replacing the high pressure hydraulic hose lines and re-bleeding.
After that, you're definitely into taking the box off again.

Do you have a vid of the noise?

I once had a new clutch fitted and the release bearing made a squeal, I had to take the box off and replace the bearing.

Im sure i had very slight issue when ATR clutch installed on the BB4 - never really came to anything and think it went away after a short while.
Ludes need to be driven daily imo as this helps avoid many issues.
Getting everything warmed up properly before loading it up is also essential.
Always use a genuine Honda release bearing
So in summary i would drive it a bit more and keep off part pressure on pedal. Nothing to lose really and worth a try (provided you are careful and attentive) before going back in to gearbox
