Reverse gear issue

right guys went to put my prelude gen5 manual 2.2 in reverse today and it really struggled to go in very stiff. Is this meaning a rebuild
Also how much do used boxes go for

Pretty sure I've read this sort of thing goes hand in hand with the 5th gear crunch cos they're opposite eachother. You can help it with some fluid thing but it wont cure it 100% I don't think.
Take what I've said with a pinch of salt though, I thought you could fit master cylinders upside down yesterday.

Nah, you're on the money Gorgon.
I'd start by checking the shifter cables are still in the relevant clips on top of the gearbox. Also, as Gorgon said, when was the last time your transmission fluid was changed?

your clutch ok? also check you slave and master cylinders for leaks!

Only got the car 4 days ago so haven't had chance to do anything to it.
What's the fluid??
Also what prices do the manual boxes fetch

depends on the box, and its dot 4, same as brake fluid

Yeah. DOT4 for the clutch, an uprated MTF for the gearbox itself. Amsoil or Torco MTF should ease the symptoms. If your box is a standard one with no LSD, a replacement can be had pretty cheap. You can use 4th gen lude boxes too. I have a 2.3non VTEC box in my lude.

How many litres does the box take.
So if I need to get a box is it the gen 4 2.3 one that fits also us their anyother
