ok folks,
so i was takin my daughter to work this morning and by the time i got back (about a 3 mile journey) the power steering went and a strange judder noise.
got in the drive power steering belt off???? re-fitted it and started the car

HOLY jobby the crank wheel is vibrating like drokk looks as if its buckled or something , basically undriveable
Is the crank drokked? or the rubber connector thingy on the crankwheel?
HELP!!!!! im stuffed without the car

Could be the crank but more likely the harmonic damper (rubber part that seperates the 2 pullies). If you can get under the car safely you should be able to have a look at the pully and tell if the 2 have seperated.
when I had the timing belt changed the fella at the garage said my crank pulley was wobbling slightly once the timing belt was changed. They gave me the pulley (new one from honda £284

) and I could easily push the two pullies apart. Not a engine killer but may be a little expensive to fix....

Yeah that'll probably be the dampener, if it's the whole pulley (middle bit too) then it's the crank pulley bolt, don't try to tighten it up, new crank bolt from Honda £20 don't skimp on that part as it has to be done up tight and a solid underdrive pulley for £40 or so and sorted.
If it's just the dampener it'll be ok to drive carefully, if it's the pulley bolt do not drive it, if the pulley comes off all sorts of bad things can happen. When changing the pulley make sure the key is still in the crank as it's important, if it falls out when you swap the pulley it's ok just clean it and put it back in, if the engine turns while it's out things aren't aligned like they should be.
In all it's not too serious as you caught it now more of a pain than anything but do not skip out on buying a new crank pulley bolt and make sure it's torqued up correctly! If you do it'll be all good for many many years, on a side note an underdrive pulley will need shorter belts too but your normal motor factors belts are cheap and fine for this

remember merlins thread about the underdrive pulley
if thats what it is thats what ill be doing, just need clarification that it is the pulley
its vibrating enough to throw off the power steering belt
just what i dont need
off to work now ill check back this evening for any more advice/solutions
cheers fellas

Yeah failure of the bolt and or rubber dampener may cause the crank pulley to wobble enough to allow the belts to come off. When my crank pulley failed one belt came completley off while the other went really slack.

Mine failed on my old car too.

Been there, done that. Twice.
I had the exact same - going round the M25, over a bump, loud band and PS gone, belts all torn to bum droppings.
Your main worry here is the crank nose, if it's been loose for a long time, there is the possibility of wear. I'm not trying to scare you, just giving you some more info
As the others have said, get it all checked over, then its a case of new pulley, woodruff key (probably, and only a tenner IIRC) and possibly bolt.
HTH.
Good luck man, I'm sure you'll get it sorted!

Personally havin seen the way the inner and outer pullies seperated (easily by hand). I'm not sure I would drive the car. I think the outer pulley is for the power steering. If this was to come off while driving it would cause some damage. If you need to take the car to a garage (and it is the rubber damper & not the bolt) I would remove the ps pulley and belt and drive the car to the garage this way, but only if I really needed to.

Had a quick check before i went to work and the bolt was loose tried tightening best i could and turned over
same mega wobble ill take it right off the night and see
when you say bolt failure what do you mean exactly?

My old car
[For drokk sakes I can't get the link to work. Everytime I post a video from my account it jumps to another video on the playlist.]
