Air filter location

Does any know what the 'best' air filter location is?
i.e. next to the IM or down at the inlet point?

simota,aem, mugen etc all have the filter near the original location so that must say something

the mugen is in reference to the b18 intake they do, but as you know the engines have an almost identical layout

Anyone remember that huge carbon Mugen CAI that came up mid-last year sometime? Went for 850ish quid

Wheel arch, or poking out the wing if you only drive it on dry days

I have the BMC in the same place as Nafeman, unless he's moved it recently. I've got a metal long arm for an intake to fit kicking about which I'm thinking of heat wrapping and installing
