hi just removed this the carbon canister , i have blocked off the vacuum lines that went to it . i followed the solid line back to the tank and it goes through a little valve. can i do away with this and just run a hose to near the tank so the gases can escape. heres a pic of the valve.

There's a lot of controversy in the States about what to do with this. Some suggest just leaving the hose end open for the gases to escape, but others that believe your fuel would eventually just "evaporate away" believe you should hook it up directly to the throttle body. But this would then mean that what gases do escape will just build up in your intake manifold plenum. This could in theory help cold start up with a bit of a fuel boost if you've removed your FITV, but I don't think there's any hard evidence of what's the best thing to do.

I'm going to try the connecting it direct to the TB first and see how it goes.

Yes mate. Definitely leave the one way valve in. Be good to hear if you have any problems or not with your set up.
