Fuel Pump Failure?

Im being lazy now hence asking question.
Basic story.
Started car, Reversed out garage, turned off engine.
Removed rear spoiler by clipping wires and insulated ends.
Try to start car and now fuel pump doesnt prime and car wont start.
Not done any digging around yet.
But seeing as i played with electrics i may have blown a fuse.
Surely fuel pump isnt on same circuit as brake lights?
It is a warlborough pump and have heard issues of them failing.
I have a spare one to change over if needs be but want to check other options in case i switch over a perfectly good pump.
Ill check/clean pump conbectors but anything else im missing?
Cheers
Marc
