Rebuilding the Redtop H22A.

would this be the correct set???

Is there any difference in the gaskets for the open or closed deck engines? If so do you know what your engine is? 92-96 H22's are closed deck.

Aren't they from 97/98+

Probably not all, 92-96 would be though.

If its the Euro-R/H22a7 I would go on the assumption that its the same as a 97-00. It being very similar to the 99+ H22a8. I would try and double check this though.

What does open deck mean?

The liners on the red top are surrounded by water jacket

An open deck block has a gap around the top of all the bores. Check google images. I'm pretty sure the head gaskets are different so make sure to get the right one.

I was going to originally keep the original gasket and nip it up a few more Nm but since this comes with a new gasket I will use the new 1

But is the gasket set any good???
