On the front, where the box meets the engine block, you will see a 4 digit code stamped on the gearbox.

LSDs are M2B4

Edit: damn wiggz beat me to it!

Alternatively you can always jack up both the front wheels and spin them. They should spin in the same direction (L.S.D) :D , opposite directions (non-L.S.D)

If the car came from the factory with LSD it should have an LSD sticker in the passenger door jam. But the easiest way to tell is the gearbox code as already said.

These other boxes have lsd also.
M2Z4, T2T4, T2w4 & U2Q7.

Also if no sticker present
a) jack up both front wheels, spin one whell by hand and the other wheel should spin in opposite direction then you have lsd.
B) Remove drivers driveshaft. Loot in side gearbox recess. If a vertical metal pin is present it is non lsd.

After a a brief chat with Marc (Dino) on the phone, we have concluded that jacking the car up and spinning one wheel to see which direction the other wheel spins in isn't infact conclusive

I think it may have something to do with resistance and possibly even something to do with the age/condition of the box, but although both wheels should spin in one direction with an LSD, this isn't necessarily the case with our cars when the car is jacked up and there is no resistance.
