Gen 5 auto gearbox compatibility
I've got a 1997 gen 5 automatic, low miles, really clean car. Seems a shame to get rid of it as I've spent a fair bit of time and money on it but the gearbox is gone.
There's a listing online for an auto box from a gen 4, says 91-96, similar mileage and what not.
Will it fit straight in and drive or will it need a bit of work, if so what is needed?
Cheers
Jay

if it was a manual box it wouldnt be an issue but i suspect being an auto box, the plugs into the loom will only work with an obd2 car, so any other 5g lude auto box. im sure the lude gods will correct me if im wrong

So I need a 5g lude box if I'm going to fit an auto again? What's needed for a manual swap?
Linkage cables and shifter
Slave cylinder
Master cylinder
Pedal box
Drive shafts? ( Not sure if they're the same)
Clutch
Manual ECU
Clocks
Anything else?

I was thinking of doing auto to manual conversion on 5th Gen.

Yeah I'm not too sure. I'd love to have the auto box again but they're made of cheese
