Idle dropping exhaust leaking

Post by ddoubledanny » Mon Aug 20, 2012 10:43 am

Hi everyone just a quick question my lude drops idle while stationary and raises again to normal. When the idle drops it feels like it wants to stall and has stalled once b4, had a quick look and my manifold to downpipe connection is blowing slightly could this be the cause thanks dan

Yes exhaust blowing before the O2 sensor is a cause of idle drop. I had it happen to me in my old Lude.

Could be, especially if it never does it during warmup.

Otherwise it's probably your IACV.

Just had the exact same problem. Gasket was split between Manifold and downpipe and had the exact same symptoms.

Wouldn't IACV issues cause high idle not low?

Before I cleaned out my IACV the revs would go high, then dip really low and almost stall, then creep up again. I cleaned it out, issue sorted.

Even then warm up issues are normally FITV and not IACV.

The Japseed is deffo just a SS copy of the OEM manifold, not too sure about the OBX.

mine had this issue around 3 years ago, felt like it wanted to stall, idle would drop to near 0, exhaust was fine, well sealed but then the problem dissepeared not giving me a chance to sort it, does anyone else have a lude that fixes itself (this isnt the only time it has fixed itself)
if i remember correctly i read a thread of common lude faults and the idle problem was common, usually iacv or something like that, most common cause was a blocked or partly blocked pipe some where on or in the iacv
