The book time is circa 4 hours for the standard belt change, add maybe 1 for the manual kit, so your going to be looking at about £150 to £200 plus belts at £50 odd, kit at £90 odd.
Are you going to be changing the WP and seals while its apart?

I just done mine and it was horrible, but if you can do it yourself there is a decent saving to be made.

PAW would be my first choice mate but I need to get from there to Plymouth (where my brother lives) and it has to be this Saturday as I am flying down to pick the car up.

Also changing the water pump, be a fool not to, but I wouldn't risk it myself, banana hands

There isn't any specialist knowledge needed, do you have a local garage you've used before who can do it for you?

Its not specialist knowledge if know how the engine works, getting it done is quick time because the engine is touched daily and knowing whats torque and tightness it all needs to be.
Id save my money and get paw to sort it.
Its a 2hr drive for me and well worth it.

Tramroad motors?
Honda?

I've only ever done 1 cambelt before (SOHC, crank, tensioner, cam), never even seen a balance belt before. Plus the engine I did it on(my Fourtrak) had the engine in the right way.

I did my Lude on the floor with normal hand tools following the AutoData guide(that even most "back street" garages have nowadays), its a pretty simple job tbh, just horrible because its awkward to get to stuff.

I'm not saying don't take it to a specialist, but it might be an unnecessary cost.
Let us know how it goes though(and more importantly, how much it costs).

There are no Honda specialists back here. I usually use a motorsport garage that compete in rallies in their Subarus, and they've fitted a Quaiffe diff to my Civic and a few other bits, I'm just unsure if they will understand the H23 manual tensioner replacement?
