Do I need to reset the tb settings?

I've just done a complete throttle body decoke but now I'm finding the engine is holding revs, it seems to do it occasionally when driving and upto 4k when out of gear.

All it takes is a blip of the throttle and it's back to 800-1000rpm but it's not nice in town all the time.

The battery has been disconnected so that's all reset but is there anyway to tell it to relearn zero throttle or something?

Any other ideas would be great to.

Thanks pete

Sounds like the throttle plate might be sticking open? The shaft should be greased ;) ;) ;)

Yeah ive greased it, tbh it doesn't stick open but sticks shut a little! It defiantly shouldn't stick open enough to do 4k?

Throttle position sensor maybe?

My TB has had the cooling bypassed and I don't have this problem. I do find it holds around 1500 when cold but pretty sure thats down to the hondata tune

Did you remove the map sensor while doing the clean?

Yeah removed the map sensor and kept it out of the way. Is it the idle control valve on the from of the inlet, that had a quick clean aswell?

You've not accidentally put a kink in your throttle cable have you? Or it's not taking a tighter bend now is it?

Are you able to get it to do it whilst the car is parked? If so, pop the bonnet and see if freeing up the throttle cable or TB butterfly (after removing the ducting) by hand helps.

Have you otherwise removed the TPS and put it back in a slightly different position?

There is always a chance the tps is slightly out but how can I get it right and would it really make it rev hi?

Got a volt meter? Can't remember what it has to be set at though, so may have to do a bit of research.

It effects the fuel mix and spark timing, so no, not going to cause your revving issue, just thought that might have been a potential side issue.

Still, try the other bits I mentioned for sticking for the sticking idle.
