srs mid section - difference in EU exhausts?

I bought one of these off 12tune to replace my rusted midsection. But once it was delivered I can see its too long... I am guessing this is because the one I have is for a JDM fit... I did email to ask if it was ok for a UKDM fit.. I'm now pretty frustrated as my 'fixing the exhaust' enters its 6th week..
I'll speak to 12tune on Monday... But getting fed up with it now...
Thank god for Halfords exhaust putty, that so far is holding my car together!

you would probably need the srs backbox?
most exhaust are different from the catback, angled different, lengths, and sometimes 3 sections
with the cat lengths, these mid sections usually come with a small section of pipe to add in

I spoke to 12tune who checked things out and said there should be no difference between EU and UKdm exhausts.. I went on the lingshonda website and that seems to be right generally, but there was one EU model listed with different part numbers for the cat and mid section... And that was the one listed for Netherlands.. which is where 12tune are based. So I sent them some pics of what I recieved and what I got under the car to look at but I wondered if any of our euro friends were aware of different cat lengths in parts of Europe like the JDM one.??

Is it for your 4th or 5th?

Sorry, this is for the 5th..
They called to say my Cat is too big and I can buy a shorter cat to make it all fit...
They offered me one for €55 ... I'm guessing its the same as a jdm size, I assume all the headers are the same... ?

Not all.
What year is your 5th? More specifically what engine do you have, the H22a5 or H22a8?
The mid sections are different on the UKDM 97-98, UKDM 99+, JDM 97-00, and JDM Type-S.

Never mind I hunted the forum and found the needed info

You have a 99+ H22a8 like me, and thats the problem. The 99+ H22a8 has a longer downpipe and larger CAT than the 97-98 H22a5, hence the shorter mid section to compensate. While we have the bonus of more power we also have the disadvantage of no aftermarket options for exhausts.

12tune dont realise the difference between the 97-98 & the 99+. Where exhausts are concerned there is no universal 97-00 fitment parts.
IMO send the mid section back and find a local exhaust builder to make you a 2.0" midsection.

I tried that option before ordering the midsection and the problem then was that they didn't want to use the connection on my brand new backbox and wanted to cut it off and use a sleeve system that I wasn't all that happy with that.
Reading that very useful thread I have 2 options...
1 - order the midsection from Honda £190 (€216) - €169 refund for the midsection.
2 - order the rest of the SS exhaust to go with €299 + €55
Of course option 2 gives me SS from the Mani to the midsection and not having to worry about it again..... but costs a lot more money.... I am almost tempted...
Edit - If I am going to get away with sneaking coilovers onto the car I need to hold back on the pennies... Honda Mid on order and I have asked 12tune for an RMA..

If you replaced the rest of the exhaust the whole thing would have to be changed, inc the manifold and downpipe. Yeah the OEM mid section seems the cheapest. Last year I replaced my one with an OEM CAT-back.
