Oil Pressure Switch

I ordered an Oil Pressure Switch from Motorfactors hoping it should cure my intermittent flickering oil light in the daily ('95 JDM), but when taking it out the box I don't recognise the connection. I've just had a look at my project lude's ('94 JDM) as there's nothing in the way to hide it, and sure enough that one has a different connection, which I'd assume my daily also has being they're both JDM and only a year apart.

The connecton on the project lude looks like this...

Image

The corresponding connection on the loom is literally just a ring terminal that the screw just clamps down on.

Where as the one I've been supplied with has a spade connection...

It's Blue Print part number is ADH26601.

Has anyone else come across this issue? Is it the difference between UKDM and JDM? (Although the guy at MotorFactors did say he searched specifically for the JDM version).

That's the same one I have sat in the garage waiting to be fitted...............some day.

Not sure if it's correct but I can check tomorrow for you, where does it sit in the engine bay?

I had the same problem the oil light would flicker, or stay on. My engine had some oil leaks, I replaced many of the gaskets and seals already. I was still getting the flickering oil light. There is a rubber boot that is suppose to cover the oil switch, mine was covered with oil on the inside of the boot. I took it off and lightly covered the switch with honda bond and i never seen the light come back on.

I think if there is some liquid on it i will ground itself somehow.

What's the problem? Unscrew the old one and have a look at the threads if they are the same buy a spade connector and put it on the end of the wire. The thread size has to be the same but the electrical connectors are swappable, just cut and solder. :)

What, the one I've just bought is the same connection as your new one?

It's literally just below the oil filter.

I think I also have an oil leak coming from either the cam seal or the vtec solenoid, and to be honest I've not had a look at the oil pressure switch on the daily, but just wanted to be prepared to do it all in one hit.

Yeah I know, but this is the cheapest potential fix to try first ;-)

Yeah cheers for that   I struggle to find time to work on my cars these days as it is... I just want a quick straight forward swap... It's not exactly in the easiest place to work ;-)
