Hi All

Just wondering if i could pick your brains. I am looking to install a short shifter on my 5th gen but it seems they arent as common on the prleude as they are on other Honda's

Howcomes? Doesnt the prelude work well with the short shifter or is it that the demand is just to low for them?

If they are avialable which ones are the best to go for?

Are they easy to install or do they require the car in the air and fiddling with the gear linkages etc

Thanks all

Pspec was your best but but they've gone bust. JTC customs do a similar model now.

Personally don't see them being of much benefit unless you make the shifter longer for a shorter reach without increasing the shift length. I had one on my old car, if you change gear quicker the rpm doesnt match the speed of the new gear and drops anyways. Hopefully that makes sense, it does in my head lol

I have the PSPEC short shifter.

MASSIVE IMPROVEMENT!

Feels fantastic, tight and much quicker.

^^^what he said. it makes for a MUCH better interaction with the gearbox. even having it set at the same values as the stock stick it feels like a million dollars.

search out a pspec if you can.

its not just shortening the throw. you get solid bushes etc. it replaces the whole sorry/ugly oem item and makes it better. just putting an adaptor on it will kill your syncros iv been told. so will jabbing the throw right down.

Some times they do come for sale on PreludePower. But then postage etc is expensive.
