JDM P13 ECU in a UKDM BB1 VTEC?

Has anyone else aside from Merlin got this setup?

I know the better way of tuning my current H22A2 would be to go p28 or standalone & mapped to suit, but just wondering if a p13 ECU with a spoon copy chip would yield plug & play gains over the OEM setup? Lower VTEC point & more aggressive mapping etc

I know Merlins car gave good power on a Spoon-chipped P13 with a 'lowly' A2 engine & seems to go well enough on track :)

I'm aware the A2 has slightly less compression as standard & doesn't run a knock sensor (so id get a CEL) but aside from that there isn't any real difference between it & a JDM H22A . My car has basic breathing mods too.

Any thoughts on whether its worth a punt?

Lack of knock sensor puts the car into limp mode, so unless you run a chip with the knock sensor disabled you won't see any gains

H22a has higher comp than the H22a2 10.6:1 vs 10:1 this is achieved with a higher comp piston in the JDM engines

Is this fact?- as I'm sure from my reading that Merlin has/had no knock sensor & got a CEL as a result -but NO limp mode? (Spoon chipped ECU) I'd be looking to fit a sleepy/spoon copy chip in mine

I guess it maybe comes down to whether his Spoon ECU disables the knock sensor? Surely if it did it wouldn't illuminate the CEL??

All I know is that when I broke my knock sensor the car was in limp mode, had it rolling roaded and it was running about 150bhp
