ARP Flywheel Bolts. H Vs B-Series?

Post by Merlin » Tue Dec 04, 2012 12:55 pm

Does anyone know where I can get hold of ARP flywheel bolts in teh UK? Or am I going to have to import them :( ?

So far I have only found for B series engines http://www.racingxs.co.uk/index.php?rou ... t_id=20009

Would the B-Series and H-Series use the same size bolt? The H-Series needs 8 bolts which he B-Series kits have.

Here is the technical blurb of the B-Series studs from the ARP catalogue. Does anyone know the specs of the OEM Prelude bolt to see if they match?

A new set of OEM bolts are over £30, the B-Series ARP's are only just more than this. Plus I have ARP main and head stud/bolts already :P. I'll be putting a load more power and torque through it with an agressive clutch. If there is a chance that they can take more punishment its worth the upgrade. After mucking about with old bolts during last winters suspension work I have learnt my lesson, I'm buying brand new.

The promotional blurb:
ARP wrote:Flywheel and Flexplate bolts play an important role in the performance and safety of race cars and street machines alike. That’s why the fastener experts at ARP have developed special bolts that are far superior to OEM hardware. ARP offers two styles of Flywheel/Flexplate bolts: High Performance and Pro Series. They are both forged from aerospace alloy and heat-treated prior to thread rolling and machining. Both feature an exclusive, flat, 12-point head design and larger than stock shank diameter for increased strength and improved flywheelregister. The popular High Performance series is rated at 180,000 psi, and the premium grade Pro Series, originally developed for NASCAR Winston Cup competition, has a 200,000 psi rating. Complete with washers and nuts where applicable.
Edit -

Doh! in the Ebay.com link the company selling the ARP bolts for the H-Series give a part number (Part # 208-2802) which is what is listed for the B-Series. So it appears that they are the same :?

Does any one have any H22 flywheel bolts lying around. Could someone measure the length of them for me?

Cheers
