Gear linkage clips??

So I'm fitting my gear linkage but iv got no clips that can hold it in,
Would O rings cope

A standard circlip might be ok as a temp measure but they don't have a big enough surface area to be reliable long term

They're likely to munch the plastic even in the short term, but they'd get you out of trouble
