Crank or Balance? - Update 2 - FIXED by PAW!!

Ok, exhaust now fixed on 5th and I still have a slight rattling noise on overun at about 2500 rpm. The garage man said its coming from bottom end but would need to do some more investigation. He said it was probably crank bearings. I asked if it could be the tensioner going on the balance belt and after looking up some schematics he agreed that could also be possible. He's quoting me £190 labour if I get the parts togther to do the belts...
I was interested in your thoughts... Could it be crank bearings? The engine only has 62k on the clock..
Should I let a Honda specialist take a look? PAW is highly rated here but that's a day trip for me from Cornwall...

Or a loose crank pulley!
Even if you're not terribly mechanical, you can self diagnose; get a torch & being careful not to get wrapped up, rev the engine using the tab on the throttle cam, whilst looking for movement on the way down - check the mpeg clips on this site. You can use a hosepipe to listen 'inside' the engine to determine whereabouts exactly the sound is coming from.
Internet noise diagnosis is a bit like Crystal gazing; pointless and after a while, Crystal seeks an injunction...

not a hosepipe a screwdriver will give you an idea where the noise is coming from but yes check the crank pulley

i use a breaker bar to prod around for noises, longer than any screwdriver ive got

i caught my hose once while i was filling up my radiator, lost a couple of inches
still got ample length though luckily!

Having emailed Rich at PAW he kind of thought that it might be the tensioner as well, so I am booked in to visit him next week (as long as it does snow too much) for a diagnosis and full belt change/manual tensioner conversion/waterpump/seals/retainer and clearances check and hopefully some piece of mind.
Tonight I found this video on the mighty YouTube of a noise that sounds almost exactly the same as the one I am getting so fingers crossed. I just hope it doesn't break completely on the drive up!! My dad is trying to convince me to trailer it up. Am I taking too much of a risk?
