I want to fit a 2.5 collector onto my eBay manifold but do I need the flexi section even tho the engine has uprated mounts all round so there really is no major movement??

Simple answer - yes
Or
Do away with flexible section and utilise a sprung donut and cup joint like civic and integra

Either way you do need a flexible area or you will keep cracking manifolds

Perfect, thanks rich.

I'll prob keep to the flexi joint idea for now in that case.

Just to add, fujitsubo used a donut and cup joint on their lude manifold and it's a pain in the ass! Just stick to a flexi

What do these look like. My hytech header is the long tube version and the collector looks like a cup joint of some sort.

This is mine.

I still may need to add some flexi as the it may need to clear the ATTS. But Hytech made 3 Types. Yours is the short tube Hytech replica. 8-) Shame they never made a long tube relipca.

No mate don't need a special decat, the mani and downpipe are in 3 pieces -

Manifold-
Downpipe to donut joint-
Cup to cat length
