slave and master cylinder help

Post by chazz_prelude » Mon Jan 14, 2013 7:46 pm

Hi everyone

I have recently purchased a 1997 2.2 vtec prelude, after using it for a few days i have noticed that the clutch master is leaking and the pedal has lost most of its pressure! so i am currently in need of a slave cylinder and master

I have been told to replace both the slave and master but was wondering whether there is any recommendations for which make to buy, i have been looking at the blueprint slave and master cylinders. Are these any good and where would be the best place to buy these??

Thanks in advanced

Cheers charlie

If the leak is at the pedal, it's just the master you will need to replace. Pull back the rubber cover on the slave, if you can't see fluid you're good. Your other option is to stick a wanted post up on here, you might be able to get a good one from a breaker.

hi

thanks for the super quick answers. i will ring around tomorrow and get the parts ordered.

I have had the same problem with an audi which was a right hassel and should have replaced both so would like to replace the slave as well because i would rather do the job once and be done with it i hope!!

Thanks again

Charlie

It's not a hard job to replace both mate, you can get away with just bleeding the clutch every now and then to regain pressure but tbh your best off just repairing it outright :)
