hi all, i need some advice as im running out of ideas fast here, ive got a `94 jdm prelude, i noticed earlier that down the back of the block by the cambelt, there is what i suspect is coolant, my thoughts were either headgasket, or water pump, both wich were changed about 6 months ago, im also not getting any heat out of the heater, the gauge says normal temp but im usure of it, but if i thrash it the fans will cut in for a few minutes then switch off, another thing is that its bogging between 2-4k, i held it at 3k earlier for less than a minute and the damn thing nearly cut out on me, this happens even when its not under load, the mot tester said its running rich aswell, sounds like it could be pinking sometimes aswell, any help on any of the issues would be greatly appreciated!

could be the pipe that runs from the back of the waterpump to the stat. If your thinking its leaking from the head then thats serious and will need the head removing to see if the h/g has gone. Is the management light on if it isnt i wouldnt think its pinking as the knock sesor would have picked that up.

Yeah it could well be the heater hose. Is the carpets or the foam on the firewall wet near the middle of the car? Does the car use much water? Do you have to keep refilling the rad expansion tank? Any deposits or build up under your oil cap?

Do the power cams still engage? Cos it sounds like what happens when the engine temp sensor goes out...
Does it idle funny?
Possible stupid question: Have any water hoses frozen?

the only time mine ever "pinked" was the fuel
ran out of fuel and the nearest petrol station only had 95 ron she pinked like a bitch

the next change tried Tesco jobby 97

do not bother it is not, just 95 with some jobby mix in! she pinked like a bitch on that to.
Shell V Power only!!! your pinking will soon go away

Hi, i the nasty little noise has identified itself to be a down pipe gasket blowing, i got the old man to rev it up and discovered it was that,
